Srinagar | Jagran News Desk: At least ten people were injured after terrorists hurled a grenade outside the deputy commissioner's building in Jammu and Kashmir’s Anantnag on Friday, reported news agency PTI. This comes after the intelligence agencies warned of a possible terror strike in the national capital.
"10 persons including a traffic policeman and a journalist injured. Only minor injuries reported so far. Follow up action initiated. Police on the job to identify and nab the culprit," news agency ANI quoted Jammu and Kashmir police as saying.
A Jammu and Kashmir official said that the terrorists hurled a grenade on a security patrol outside the heavily guarded complex in Anantnag town, 55 km from here, around 11 am.

However, the grenade missed its intended target and exploded on the roadside which injured around eight people on the street. The injured were evacuated to the hospital, the official added.
The official further said that the attack has caused panic among people in the city.
Meanwhile, the security forces have cordoned off the area and have launched an operation to hunt down the terrorists, the official added. No outfit has so far claimed responsibility for the attack.
This is the second such attack on security forces after the government revoked Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir and bifurcated the state into two union territories.
In a similar attack on security forces on September 28, the terrorists had hurled a grenade at CRPF personnel in Srinagar. However, they had missed their target. The grenade was hurled at CRPF's 38 battalion personnel.
On the same day, the security forces killed four terrorists, including a top Hizbul Mujahideen commander, in two separate encounters in the Valley.
In the Batote area of Ramban, three terrorists were killed while an army jawan lost his life. The security forces also rescued a hostage. While in the other encounter in Kashmir’s Ganderbal an unidentified militant was killed by the security forces.
