Army on Saturday said Sub Kuldeep Chand made supreme sacrifice in the line of duty while gallantly leading a counter-infiltration operation along the Line of Control in the Keri-Battal area of Sunderbani, Jammu and Kashmir on Friday night.

White Knight Corps of the Indian Army in an X post said, "General Officer Commanding (GOC) White Knight Corps and all ranks salute the supreme sacrifice of Braveheart Sub Kuldeep Chand of 9 PUNJAB. He laid down his life while gallantly leading a Counter-Infiltration operation along the Line of Control in the Keri-Battal area of Sunderbani on the night of 11 Apr 2025. His team’s valour and Sub Kuldeep’s ultimate sacrifice foiled an infiltration attempt by terrorists. We stand in solidarity with the bereaved family in this hour of grief"

The sad news comes hours after, the army said it succeeded in killing two terrorists in the ongoing military operation in Kishtwar.

In the ongoing operations at #Chhatru, Kishtwar, despite bad and inclement weather, two more Pakistani terrorists have been eliminated. A large quantity of war like stores including One AK and One M4 rifle have been recovered.
Operations are in progress.…
Three Pakistani Terrorists Killed
Indian Army on Saturday said two more terrorists were killed in an ongoing joint operation - Op Chhatru. The operation was launched on April 9 in the Chatroo area of Kishtwar. One terrorist was killed on Friday.
"Op Chhatru : Update In the ongoing operations at #Chhatru, Kishtwar, despite bad and inclement weather, two more Pakistani terrorists have been eliminated. A large quantity of war-like stores including One AK and One M4 rifle have been recovered. Operations are in progress," posted White Knight Corps - an official X account of 16 Corps, Indian Army.
