Jammu Kashmir: An Agniveer soldier of the Indian Army was injured after a landmine exploded near the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri district of Jammu & Kashmir. The incident occurred during a routine patrol in the Kerri area. The injured jawan was immediately evacuated and rushed to a hospital for medical treatment, Jagran.com reported.
According to officials, the incident occurred while troops were conducting a routine patrol in the Kerri sector. The soldier was immediately evacuated and admitted to a hospital for treatment.
Officials explained that under the anti-infiltration obstacle system, landmines are laid in forward areas to prevent incursions. However, heavy rain sometimes causes these mines to shift or become dislodged, leading to such accidents.
An investigation into the incident is currently underway, they added.
In a similar incident, eleven security personnel were injured in multiple IED blasts, which took place at Karregutta Hills in Bijapur District yesterday. All the injured were evacuated and airlifted to Ramkrishna Care Hospital in Raipur. According to an official of the Bijapur police, the conditions of all the injured are currently stable.

Among those injured, 10 were personnel from the District Reserve Guard (DRG), a state police unit, while one belonged to the Commando Battalion for Resolute Action (CoBRA), an elite unit of the CRPF, which was constituted to counter the guerrilla tactics of Left Wing Extremism in the country.
