Reasi Bus Terror Attack:  At least 9 pilgrims lost lives and many others sustained injuries after their bus fell into a roadside gorge after it was reportedly attacked by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district. According to initial reports, the bus was going to the cave temple of Shiv Khori situated near Sangar village in Reasi's Pouni.

The bus was severely damaged after the plunge and bodies were reportedly scattered in and around, NDTV reported. The locals along with the police and the administration have started rescue operations.

Reinforcements from the police, army, and paramilitary forces were rushed to the spot, the police said, according to news agency PTI.

"Initial reports suggest that terrorists fired upon the passenger bus going from Shiv Khori to Katra. Due to the firing, the bus driver lost the balance of the bus and it fell into the gorge. 33 people were injured in the incident. The rescue operation has been completed. The identities of the passengers have not been confirmed yet, they are not locals. Shiv Khori shrine was secured and area domination was done," said SSP Reasi Mohita Sharma.

Reacting to the terror attack, Union Minister Amit Shah expressed grief over the incident. He promised stern action against the perpetrators behind the heinous attack on innocent pilgrims.

"Deeply pained by the incident of the attack on pilgrims in Reasi, J&K. Spoke to the Lieutenant Governor and the DGP, J&K, and inquired about the incident. The culprits of this dastardly attack will not be spared and will face the wrath of the law," he said.

"The local administration is working on a war footing to provide immediate medical attention. May the Almighty give the loved ones of the deceased the strength to bear this pain. I also pray for the speedy recovery of the injured," Union Minister Amit Shah posted on X.
