Jammu-Kashmir Rains: In the wake of relentless rainfall and unsafe conditions along the Yatra route, the Vaishno Devi Yatra remained suspended for the sixth consecutive day on Sunday. The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) has announced full refunds for all bookings made by devotees during the suspension period.

Helicopter services from Katra to Bhawan, ropeway services from Bhawan to Bhairon Ghati, hotel accommodation and other yatra-related services have been suspended.

Vaishno Devi Yatra Suspended: How To Get Full Refunds?

- Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board said that all bookings have been cancelled due to the suspension of the Yatra amid heavy rainfall and landslides.

- Devotees will receive 100 per cent for all cancelled bookings.

- To receive the refund, the devotees will have to email their details to refund@maavaishnodevi.net, the Shrine Board wrote in a post on X (formerly Twitter).

- If a devotee has cancelled his/her booking earlier, they will get their refund within 15 days.

- For any help or queries, devotees can contact the SMVDSB call centre at 18001807212 or +91 9906019494.

Landslide Near Adhkuwari Kills 34

The Vaishno Devi Yatra was halted on Tuesday after a cloudburst triggered a deadly landslide near Adhkuwari, midway through the 12-kilometre trek from Katra to the Vaishno Devi shrine. The landslide occurred at around 3 PM on Tuesday, claiming the lives of 34 people and injuring 20 others.

Heavy rain continues to wreak havoc in Jammu and Kashmir, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing an alert for heavy rain in multiple districts till September 2. In light of inclement weather, the authorities have not announced a date for the resumption of the Vaishno Devi Yatra.

The weather department had advised residents to follow official weather updates and keep a distance from rivers and landslide-prone areas.
