A BJP youth leader in Jammu was shot on Friday after an altercation over parking, according to police. Kanav Sharma, the district head of the BJP Yuva Morcha in Jammu, was shot, after which he was taken to the hospital. His father, senior advocate Chander Mohan Sharma, informed the media that his son's condition is stable.

Kanav, who has been actively involved in an anti-drug campaign in Jammu, was parking his vehicle near his home in the New Plot neighbourhood when some people complained, resulting in a conflict.

"One of them took out a revolver and fired two rounds, one of which hit Kanav," Sharma said.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Vivek Shekhar told reporters at the GMC that an initial investigation revealed that Sharma was wounded when a PDD employee opened fire on him.

Two shots were fired at him, according to eyewitnesses; one struck the victim's belly, while the second bullet missed him.

The PDD employee was reportedly holding a pistol, according to eyewitnesses, and the accused left the scene of the incident and has since proceeded to evade capture.

His father, meanwhile, alleged that as his son was parking his vehicle when PDD officials from a neighbouring receiving station appeared and began fighting with him.

According to officials, police are working to find the individuals responsible for the shooting and have confiscated a bike that belonged to one of the suspects.
