Panchkula News: At least three people, including a woman, all aged between 20 and 25, were fatally shot at a birthday party in Morni Hills, Panchkula, Haryana, police confirmed on Monday. The victims of the shooting incident have been identified as Vineet alias Vicky and Vipin, both from Delhi, and Nia from Hisar, news agency PTI reported citing Station House Officer, Pinjore, Inspector Sombir.
According to the police, the trio was shot dead by unidentified assailants in the hotel parking lot. The miscreants reportedly fired multiple shots at their SUV. "The three had come to attend a birthday party when the incident took place," Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime), Panchkula, Arvind Kamboj told news agency PTI over the phone. "We are scanning CCTV footage and gathering other clues," Kamboj further said.
The police stated that one of the deceased, Vicky, had a criminal background and had some cases registered against him. The motive behind the killing remains unclear, however, police suspect that it could be a case of rivalry.
The victims were taken to the Civil Hospital in Sector 6, Panchkula, near Chandigarh, where they were pronounced dead. The police have launched an investigation into the incident.
The incident comes after a low-intensity explosion that took place outside a nightclub in Sector 29, Gurugram, on December 10. The police arrested a man at the spot, who was accused of throwing the bombs. No casualties took place in the incident.
Earlier in November this year, two explosions occurred outside clubs in Panchkula, near Chandigarh. The blasts took place outside the Seville Bar and Lounge, owned by singer and rapper Badshah, and the De Orra Club, both located in Sector 26.
The Lawrence Bishnoi gang, through gangsters Goldie Brar and Rohit Godara, claimed responsibility for the attacks. Following an encounter in Hisar, Haryana, two suspects allegedly linked to the crude bombings were arrested.
The accused, identified as 20-year-old Vinay and 21-year-old Ajit Sehrawat, both from Hisar, sustained leg injuries during the exchange of gunfire.
