Asia's largest tulip garden in Jammu is poised for a significant boost in Jammu and Kashmir tourism as the Floriculture Department expanded the garden area and added five new tulip varieties, bringing the total to 73. This expansion, detailed in a recent meeting led by Commissioner Secretary Floriculture Sheikh Faiyaz Ahmed, is part of a broader initiative to attract more visitors to the region.

In preparation for the upcoming season, the department has completed the groundwork for the blooming of 17 lakh tulips and has extended the garden’s parking area by 2,023 square metres. The Tulip Garden’s recent entry into the World Book of Records has already heightened tourist interest, with expectations for an even greater influx of visitors this year.

To accommodate the anticipated increase, extensive civil works are underway, including face lifting, installing toilets and upgrading the electricity system. The department is also focused on enhancing park facilities across all districts, with a particular emphasis on washroom amenities.
