J-K Bus Accident: Two students were killed and 21 others were injured after a college bus carrying them met with an accident in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara district on Saturday, according to officials.
A bus carrying 27 students on a picnic from Government Degree College Sogam lost control and turned turtle near the Vodpora district of Handwara, according to reports.
The injured were sent to a hospital in Handwara, where one girl student was pronounced dead, according to the officials.

Two of the injured were sent to a hospital in serious condition, and according to the officials, one of them passed away from their wounds.
Additionally, they said that 20 students were receiving care in the Handwara hospital.

Omar Abdullah, the chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir, expressed sorrow for the deaths in the tragedy.
“The loss of two young promising students from GDC Sogam in the tragic accident near Handwara is a tragedy that weighs heavily on all of us. My deepest condolences to their families in this hour of grief. Prayers for the swift recovery of the injured," the CM’s office said on X.
According to the chief minister, the administration is keeping a careful eye on the situation and making sure that everyone who needs help gets it.
