The government hospitals in Jharkhand will be getting physiotherapists or occupational therapists for the first time. The appointments will be for the basic posts of General Physiotherapists and Specialists. While the higher posts will be filled by them after promotions.
A draft has already been made for these appointments. The Health Department has decided to constitute Jharkhand State Physiotherapists/Occupational Therapists (Recruitment, Promotion and Other Service Conditions Rules, 2022) for appointment to the posts. Further suggestions on the same have been sought from the concerned people till October 31.
According to the proposed rules, the appointments will be done through the State Staff Selection Commission.

Required Qualifications For The Posts
A degree in Physiotherapist/Occupational Therapist, as well as a 12th in Science, will be required for the position of General Physiotherapist. Similarly, for recruitment to the position of Specialist Physiotherapist, a 12th-grade in Science and a postgraduate degree in Physiotherapist/Occupational Therapist will be required.
The merit list for appointment will be created by combining the marks received in the Commission's examination and the marks gained based on education and experience. The written exam will be of 100 points.

General Physiotherapist/Occupational Therapist
Physiotherapist/Occupational Therapist – 65 percent posts
Senior Physiotherapist/Occupational Therapist – 25 percent posts
Superintending Physiotherapist/Occupational Therapist – 10 percent posts
Specialist Physiotherapist/Occupational Therapist
Specialist Physiotherapist/Occupational Therapist-65 percent posts
Deputy Director-Physiotherapist/Occupational Therapist – 25 percent posts
Joint Director-Physiotherapist/Occupational Therapist-10 percent posts
