Jharkhand News: Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) Rajya Sabha MP Mahua Manjhi and her family were injured in a road accident near Khushbu Dhaba on NH 75 in the Hotwag Sadar police station area. The incident occurred when their car collided with a parked truck, causing serious injuries to the MP and others in the vehicle.
Mahua Manjhi, 65, her son Sombit Manjhi, 42, daughter-in-law Kriti Shrivastav Manjhi, 36, and driver Bhupendra Baski sustained injuries in the crash. The MP’s condition is reported to be critical.

Upon receiving information, Latehar Police Inspector Dulad Chaudhary promptly arrived at the scene and arranged for the injured to be taken to Sadar Hospital in Latehar via a 108 ambulance. Dr Sunil Kumar Bhagat provided initial treatment and later referred them to Ranchi’s RIMS hospital for advanced medical care.
Sombit Manjhi, who was driving the car instead of the driver, revealed that the accident happened while they were returning from Maha Kumbh. He admitted to feeling drowsy, which led to the car crashing into the stationary truck.
According to Dr Bhagat, Mahua Manjhi suffered a fracture in her left wrist. After receiving first aid, she was shifted to Ranchi for further treatment.

Following treatment at Sadar Hospital, the MP’s son requested an ambulance to transport them to Ranchi. However, he alleged that hospital authorities delayed the arrangement for nearly an hour. He expressed frustration, stating that despite repeated requests, the ambulance was not made available. Eventually, after the intervention of Latehar police station in-charge Dulad Chaudhary, an ambulance was arranged and the injured were transported to RIMS Ranchi.
