J-K: Landslide Triggers Panic On Srinagar-Uri Highway As People Abandon Vehicles In Dramatic Escape; Traffic Halted | VIDEO

A landslide has occurred on the Srinagar-Baramulla-Uri National Highway (NH-1) in the Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir. A video of the incident has gone viral on social media, showing debris falling from the mountains and bringing vehicular movement to a complete halt.

Fortunately, no casualties have been reported. As stones began to tumble down the mountainside, commuters abandoned their vehicles on the highway and ran for safety, leading to a chaotic situation at the scene.

According to reports, a portion of a mountain near Uri suddenly gave way, causing a massive amount of debris to crash onto the highway. Before people could fully grasp what was happening, they scrambled out of their cars to escape. A significant number of vehicles were present on the road when the incident occurred. Thankfully, there was no loss of life or property. Currently, vehicular traffic has been suspended on the route, and operations to clear the debris have commenced.
