JKSSB SI Recruitment 2022 Leak: Amid the nationwide outcry over the NEET-UG "paper leak" and the cancellation of the UGC-NET examination, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday arrested the alleged mastermind of the JKSSB sub-inspector recruitment exam paper leak case as part of a money-laundering probe, official sources cited by news agency PTI said.

The arrested individual has been identified as Yatin Yadav, a suspected tout, who was taken into custody by the ED from Jammu, as per PTI's report. The examination in question was held by the Jammu and Kashmir Service Selection Board (JKSSB) on March 27, 2022 for the recruitment of sub-inspectors.

As per PTI's sources, Yadav, being the "kingpin", executed a well-devised plan with the help of other touts based in Haryana and J&K to arrange aspirants willing to shell out payments ranging between Rs 15 lakh and Rs 30 lakh to gain access to the leaked question paper. The payments, mainly in cash, collected from the candidates were routed to Yadav's bank accounts after the recruitment examination, they said.

NEET-UG, UGC-NET Row: CBI Probe Underway

Yatin Yadav's arrest coincides with widespread protests over alleged irregularities in the conduct of the NEET-UG medical entrance exam and the cancellation of UGC-NET on the grounds of 'compromised integrity'. The probe into various instances of alleged malpractices surrounding the examinations have been handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

According to officials, a CBI team reached Gujarat's Godhra city on Monday to probe alleged irregularities in the NEET-UG medical entrance exam held on May 5. This came a day after the Gujarat government transferred to the central agency cases registered by the state police in connection with alleged NEET-UG paper leaks. Meanwhile, another CBI team reached the office of the Economic Offences Unit (EOU) of Bihar Police in Patna to take over investigation reports related to the alleged irregularities.
