Famous YouTuber from Haryana, Jyoti Malhotra, was arrested on Saturday on charges of spying for Pakistan. According to media reports, Jyoti is accused of providing sensitive information to the Pakistani intelligence agency. It is reported that Jyoti Malhotra had visited Pakistan in 2023, during which she came in contact with Pakistani intelligence agents. 

Jyoti Malhotra runs a YouTube channel named Travel With Jo.

Amid the ongoing action against Malhotra, an old post on X has resurfaced, urging the National Investigation Agency (NIA) to monitor her activities. The post, shared by one Kapil Jain in May 2024, claims that the YouTuber visited Pakistan for 10 days following her attendance at an event hosted by the Pakistani embassy.

“@NIA_India please keep close watch on this lady..she first visited and attained pakistani embassy function then visited pakistan for 10 days now she is heading for kashmir... may be some link behind all these,” the post read. 

The now-viral post remained unacknowledged until Malhotra was arrested over links with Pakistan. The post has now garnered a plethora of reactions, with people hailing Kapil Jain for his inkling into Jyoti Malhotra’s links with Pakistani agents.  

“Wow! This guy found her activities suspicious one full year before she was arrested!! Respect!” wrote a user in the comment section. 

“You have got to question the security agencies when a random Twitter user cracks a case about a Pakistani spy literally a year before them,” another wrote.

So far, six people have been arrested in connection with this case. The sessions court has sent Malhotra on a five-day police remand. A case was filed against her under Section 152 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Sections 3, 4, and 5 of the Official Secrets Act, 1923.
