The Hisar District Court on Thursday send YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra to 4 days police remand after the officials sought extra time to probe into the matter. Earlier on Wednesday, the officials stated that while Jyoti Malhotra has been in contacts with Pakistani nationals for several months, there has not been any concrete proof of her being involved in the terror activities. Hisar Superintendent of Police further stated that they have also not found any proof that suggest that the accused had intentions of changing her religion or settling in Pakistan.

However, the officials stated that they are further investigating into the matter, adding that Pakistani agencies had contacted several Indian nationals with good social media reach and individuals with low-key jobs.

“We have not found any document which depicts that she wants to marry any PIOs or wants to change religion,” the SP was quoted as saying by the Hindustan Times. The officials further stated that the Pakistani officials were using Malhotra as an asset and she had delivered several key information to them. Apart from this, the officials also stated that the Pak officials were also in contacts with other social media influencers.

“Danish was developing her as an asset. She was in touch with other YouTube influencers,” a Hisar police spokesperson was quoted as saying by the Hindustan Times. Earlier on Monday, the officials had stated that the YouTuber had accepted that she was in touch with Pakistani citizens, adding that she also had an intimate relationship with a Pak official and visited Bali with him.

“She has confessed to her role. Her travel history includes four visits to Pakistan, and she maintained encrypted communication with handlers on WhatsApp, Telegram and Snapchat,” DSP Singh was quoted as saying by the Times of India. “She had saved one operative’s number as ‘Jatt Randhawa’ and had also travelled to Bali with him,” he added. Jyoti Malhotra was arrested for allegedly sharing key securituy information with a Pakistani citizen.
