Passengers going from Etah to Agra for Kanwar Yatra in the month of Shravan are now having to cover more distance and pay more fare. Due to route diversion, roadways and contracted buses are now reaching Agra via a winding route instead of the normal route. This has increased the distance by about 77 km, which has increased both the time and fare.
Diversion On Alternate Route And Fare
Passengers going to Agra will be able to go to Agra every Saturday from 6 pm to Monday 5 pm via Kuravali, Ghiror, Shikohabad, Firozabad, and Tundla. This route is 166 km long, and the fare will be Rs 246. This route has been decided away from the Kanwar Yatra route, so that the safety of the devotees can be ensured.

Buses will reach Agra via Kuravali, Ghiror, Shikohabad, Firozabad, and Tundla. This route is longer than normal, due to which passengers have to cover an additional distance of 77 km. Due to this, the fare has also increased, which is affecting the pockets of common passengers.
From Tuesday to Friday, buses will go to Agra via Nagariya Mod, Nidhauli Kalan, Jalesar, and on return, it will be via Tundla, Awagarh, Etah route. This route is relatively short, its length is 97 km, and the fare will be Rs 134. From Tuesday to Friday, buses will go to Agra via the Nagariya Mod-Nidhauli Kalan route.
An Accident Injuring Kanwariyas Led To Diversion
Recently, two accidents took place on Agra Road, in which two Kanwariyas were injured. In view of this, the administration has decided to send buses through an alternate route every week. The administration has instructed the concerned officials to strictly follow the route diversion on the fixed days, so that the Kanwar Yatra can be completed peacefully, and the common passengers also do not face any inconvenience.
