Kanwar Yatra 2026: Ahead of the auspicious Kanwar Yatra, the authority informed that a diversion for heavy goods vehicles will be implemented in Ghaziabad from Wednesday. It further stated that the arrangement will be applicable for heavy vehicles, including trucks, trolleys, canters, and tractor-trolleys, adding that the restrictions will be imposed till August 12. The authority stated that entry of heavy vehicles into Ghaziabad and on Kanwar routes will be prohibited during this period.

While providing details, DCP Traffic Triguna Bisen stated that the arrangements have been made to stop heavy vehicles and send them on alternative routes. He further stated that the decision was taken to ensure safety for the devotees and the local residents. The DCP further stated that further changes can also be made in the diversion system if number of devotees increase significantly.

Check Diversion Details: 

- Entry of vehicles from Delhi (Tulsi Niketan Border, Seemapuri Border, Anand Vihar B Border) into Ghaziabad has been prohibited.
- Vehicles coming from Hapur, Bulandshahr will go to their destination using NH-9 instead of coming directly towards Ghaziabad from Dasna Bridge, Lal Kuan, Atmaram Steel Tiraha.
- As per the advisory, entry of heavy vehicles from Loni border towards Loni town will be completely prohibited.
- Entry of heavy vehicles will be restricted from Santosh Medical Cut Siddharth Vihar towards Meerut trisection.
- Entry of heavy vehicles towards NH-9 from Gaur Green Cut, Khoda, Kalapathar, Sector 62, Chhijarsi and Kanawani Pushta in Indirapuram area will be completely prohibited.
- The authority stated that entry of heavy vehicles will be strictly prohibited on Ganga Canal Track Kanwar Marg, Pipeline Marg, Meerut Road and Delhi Meerut Expressway.
- Entry of vehicles from Hapur-Bhojpur towards Modinagar and Delhi-Meerut Expressway will be restricted.
- As per the advisory, vehicular movement from Saur Urja Marg via Sahibabad Underpass towards Sahibabad Station Cut GT Road will remain closed.

Authority Announces Restriction 

The authority further stated that entry to all vehicles on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway will be completely closed from 8 am on August 7. However, vehicular movement will continue on the Eastern Peripheral, Delhi-Dehradun, and Ganga Expressway.
