Delhi NCR Kanwar Yatra Traffic Advisory: In Delhi, the movement of Kanwariyas will significantly affect several main roads. These include Wazirabad Road, GT Road, Loni Road, NH-24, Road Number 56, Kalindi Kunj Road, Mathura Road, Ring Road, ISBT Kashmiri Gate, Rani Jhansi Road, Ridge Road and Dhaula Kuan. These are commonly used by pilgrims heading to collect Gangajal before moving towards their respective Shiva temples.
According to Delhi Police, pilgrims entering the city from the Maharajpur or Ghazipur borders will travel via Road No. 56, Ghazipur roundabout, NH-24, Ring Road and Mathura Road, eventually exiting at the Badarpur border towards Haryana. Those entering from Noida will follow the Kalindi Kunj route to Mathura Road and exit at Badarpur as well.
Other key routes include the Ring Road stretch via Majnu Ka Tila, Mukarba Chowk and NH-1 towards Singhu or Tikri Borders. From there, devotees will move into Haryana. Major Kanwar camps will be set up along these roads to provide rest and amenities to the pilgrims.

Kanwar Yatra 2025: Delhi Roads Likely to Face Traffic Delays And Diversions
Several internal roads in the city will also experience traffic delays and diversions due to the Yatra. These include:
- Nangloi-Najafgarh Road
- Firni Road
- Rohtak Road
- Madipur
- Peeragarhi
- Zakhira
- Mukarba Chowk
- Madhuban Chowk
- Keshopur Mandi
- Janakpuri
- Pankha Road
- Devprakash Shastri Marg
- Salimgarh Bypass
- Geeta Colony Pushta Road
- Indralok
- Azad Market
- Ring Road
- Outer Ring Road
- Barf Khana Chowk
- Boulevard Road
- Gokulpuri Flyover
- 66 Foota Road
- Maujpur Chowk
- Seelampur Metro Station
- Shahdara
Noida: Heavy Vehicle Diversions via Peripheral Expressways
In Noida, goods vehicles approaching from Chilla Red Light and heading towards Ghaziabad, Hapur or Moradabad must use the Eastern Peripheral Expressway via the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway. Vehicles coming from DND Flyway, Delhi-Badarpur Border and Okhla Barrage are also advised to reroute similarly.
Traffic from areas such as NIB, Model Town, Chhijarsi and Taj Highway will be redirected to the Eastern Peripheral Expressway. Those using the MP-01 elevated road will also shift to this expressway.
Greater Noida Traffic Diversions
For vehicles approaching Delhi via NH-91 from Aligarh, Bulandshahr and Sikandrabad, diversions will lead to the Eastern Peripheral Expressway. From Pari Chowk, vehicles coming from Kasna and Secunderabad will be redirected through the Sirsa roundabout.
The road between Chilla Red Light and Pakshi Vihar Gate will remain completely closed for vehicle movement during the Yatra period.
Ghaziabad: Route Closed and Heavy Police Deployment
Ghaziabad will see major restrictions over three key routes used by Kanwariyas:
- Muradnagar to Tila Morh: approx. 25 km
- Kadrabad Border to Delhi-Ghaziabad Border: approx. 42.5 km
- Delhi-Meerut Expressway and NH-9 (Auxiliary Route): approx. 53 km
Authorities have deployed around 600 traffic officials along these paths. Heavy vehicles will be diverted to NH-9 and the Eastern Peripheral Expressway to ease congestion.
Delhi Border Restrictions
Commuters from the following Delhi borders will not be allowed into Ghaziabad:
- Loni Border
- Tulsi Niketan Border
- Seemapuri Border
- Anand Vihar Border
Kanwar Yatra Route: Access Routes To Haridwar And Other Cities Adjusted
Vehicles travelling to Haridwar, Amroha, Moradabad, and Lucknow must enter Ghaziabad via the UP Gate (Ghazipur Border), using Road No. 56 (Ch. Charan Singh Marg), then proceed via NH-9 to reach the Dasna Intersection and eventually the Eastern Peripheral Expressway.
Those coming from Baghpat will be diverted through Tronica City and enter Delhi via Sonia Vihar. Entry of heavy vehicles into Loni town from the Loni Border is completely restricted.
Similarly, no entry will be allowed from Hapur or Bulandshahr towards Ghaziabad through the Dasna Bridge, Lal Kuan, or Atmaram Steel Intersection. Vehicles bound for Delhi must take NH-9 directly.
Heavy vehicles from Santosh Medical Cut (Jal Nigam T-Point) towards Meerut Tiraha on the New Link Road are also barred. Entry of such vehicles into Indirapuram from NH-9 through Gaur Green, Khoda, Kalapatthar, Sector 62, Chhijarsi, and Kanawani Pushta is not permitted.

Meerut: Dedicated Lanes For Pilgrims And Diversions For Heavy Traffic
In Meerut, traffic diversions will begin on July 10 for heavy vehicles and from July 19 for light vehicles. SP Traffic Raghavendra Mishra said vehicles from Delhi to Dehradun will now take a diverted route via Dasna Interchange, moving through Hapur, Kithor, and Mawana to enter Uttarakhand.
City roads will have one lane designated for Kanwariyas and one for general public use. Quick Response Teams (QRTs) have been placed at important points to prevent traffic jams. Additionally, surveillance through drones and CCTV cameras will help in managing congestion swiftly.
