Bidar News: A district-level government review meeting in Karnataka’s Bidar descended into chaos on Tuesday after a heated argument broke out between two legislators from rival parties, forcing the session to be adjourned.
The incident took place during the quarterly Karnataka Development Programme (KDP) review meeting held at the Zilla Panchayat Hall in Bidar. The confrontation involved BJP MLA Siddu Patil and Congress MLC Bhimrao Patil. The meeting was chaired by Bidar district in-charge minister Eshwara Khandre.
According to officials present at the venue, the argument began during a discussion on alleged encroachment of forest land in the Humanabad constituency. What started as a verbal disagreement soon escalated, with both leaders raising their voices and accusing each other during the proceedings.

Videos from the meeting, which have since circulated widely, show the two leaders shouting and pointing fingers at each other in full public view. The situation worsened when the Congress MLC stood up from his seat and moved towards the BJP MLA, appearing to raise his hand as if to hit him. Security personnel and other leaders intervened immediately and restrained him, preventing any physical assault.
Witnesses said abusive language was exchanged during the confrontation, disrupting the meeting and creating an atmosphere of disorder. With the situation going out of control, Minister Khandre stepped in and decided to adjourn the meeting indefinitely to prevent further escalation.
