Karnataka Weather: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that several regions of Karnataka are likely to witness light to moderate rain in the upcoming days. The weather department stated that while the southern regions are set to receive rain, the coastal and northern districts are likely to witness a cold wave. The minimum temperature in most of the district remained around 15 degrees Celsius, slightly higher than last week. The presence of fog, especially in the early hours, is likely to lead to inconvenience for the commuters. The weather department has advised the residents to follow the guidelines and stay updated.
While providing details, the weather department stated that several districts, including Bangaluru, Bangaluru Rural, Mandya, Chikkaballapur, Kolar, Chamarajanagar, Tumkur, and Ramanagara, are set to witness light to moderate rainfall till January 6. The IMD further stated that the minimum temperature in these districts is likely to drop by two to three degrees due to the rain. The continuous rainfall is likely to lead to waterlogging in several regions, affecting the vehicular movement.
Apart from this, the other regions, including Davangere, Chitradurga, Bellary, Hassan, Chikkamagaluru, Kodagu, Vijayanagar, and Shivamogga, are set to witness a cold wave for the next few days. The weather department stated that these regions are also set to witness fog in the early hours. However, the IMD report asserted that the minimum temperature is likely to be 2 to 3 degrees Celsius higher than normal.
The weather department stated that the capital city Bengaluru is likely to witness cloudy skies and light rain for the next two days. While the maximum temperature is likely to be calculated at 28 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature is set to remain around 17 degrees Celsius. The IMD has advised the commuters to stay updated and plan their travel accordingly to avoid any inconveniences.
