In a shocking incident early on Wednesday morning, Venkatesh Kuruba, the 31-year-old president of the BJP Yuva Morcha in Karnataka’s Gangavathi, was brutally murdered on a roadside. Kuruba was riding his bike when an unidentified car rammed into his vehicle from behind.

Moments later, a group of assailants armed with machetes and knives got out of the car and launched an attack on him. After attacking him, the assailants fled the scene. A nearby CCTV camera captured the gruesome incident, with the footage showing the assailant striking Kuruba multiple times before escaping from the spot.

Ram L. Arasiddi, Koppal Superintendent of Police, said that the incident was a case of revenge murder. "In 2003, Venkatesh helped police arrest the accused in a case. The same people are involved in this,” he said.

“The motive was that in 2003, when in a case of a friend, Venkatesh had helped the police to arrest all the accused who were involved in this... So we will be arresting all the accused at the earliest, and procedures will be done,” ANI quoted Arasiddi as saying.

Based on Kuruba’s brother's complaint, a case has been filed, and four individuals have been taken into custody. Authorities are examining every angle, including how the attackers knew that Kuruba would be travelling alone on the road at around 2:30 AM, allowing them to ambush him.

Friends of Kuruba who witnessed the attack informed the police that the group responsible for the killing of the BJP Yuva Morcha’s president consisted of seven to eight individuals.
