Karnataka CM Change Buzz: A dinner meeting of Congress MLAs considered close to Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah in Belagavi on Wednesday night has stirred political buzz within the ruling party, fuelling speculation over leadership and power-sharing arrangements in the state.

According to sources, cited by news agency PTI, more than 30 MLAs attended the gathering, which was hosted by senior minister Satish Jarkiholi at a city hotel. While some participants played down the event as a routine social interaction during the Assembly’s winter session, others conceded that key political matters were also discussed during the meeting.

What Did The Minister Say About The Dinner Event?

Jarkiholi, considered a close aid to Siddaramaiah, said, "There's nothing special about it. Hosting dinners for like-minded people is common. Such meetings happen. We had a meeting yesterday. There was nothing special about it, and there wasn't much political discussion." He added that similar meetings have taken place before.

Who All Participated In The Meeting?

As per PTI, among those present were Siddaramaiah's son and MLC Yathindra Siddaramaiah, and MLA KN Rajanna, a former minister and considered close to the Chief Minister. Siddaramaiah himself did not attend the dinner, with sources citing ill health as the reason.

However, Rajanna suggested otherwise, claiming the meeting was political. He said, "Yes, Satish Jarkiholi held a dinner meeting last night. As reported, it wasn't limited to just SC and ST MLAs. He invited all like-minded MLAs. I also went. Many political matters were discussed. Jarkiholi himself can provide details." When asked if politics was discussed, Rajanna said, "What else would we meet for? Would we meet just for dinner? When people meet, discussions are bound to take place. There are many purposes."
