Karnataka Covid-19 Cases: The Health and Family Welfare Department of Karnataka declared that there are now more than 300 active COVID-19 cases in the state. Health officials are on high alert around the state as schools resume classes on Monday after the summer holiday.

The department reports that there are currently 311 ongoing COVID-19 cases, with 87 new cases recorded in the last 24 hours. A total of 29 patients were released at this time, and 504 people were screened. The case fatality rate remained at zero, but the COVID-19 positive rate was recorded as 17.2 percent.

Of the current cases, 14 people are hospitalised, including three in the intensive care units of both public and private hospitals, and 297 patients are under home quarantine. With the bulk of current cases reported from the city, Bengaluru remains the state's hotspot.

Apart from COVID-19, the increase in influenza and severe acute respiratory infections (SARI) is also causing worry.

Karnataka has reported 4,536 instances of influenza and SARI since January, including 154 cases in the last week. Health officials are testing individuals with similar symptoms for COVID-19 after noticing a sharp increase in these instances.

Doctors have urged people to be on guard and to pay attention to symptoms including fever, cough, exhaustion, headache, runny nose, congestion in the nose, and soreness in the throat.

The Gruha Arogya Yojana (Home Health Scheme) would now be available throughout the whole state, according to Karnataka Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao. As part of this effort, patients will get medicines in the comfort of their own homes and undergo testing for 14 non-communicable illnesses.
