A quarrel over the pending payment of compensation led to a scuffle at the Town Development Authority office in Bagalkot district of Karnataka on Saturday, after a displaced farmer allegedly attacked a staffer with a slipper.
As per an NDTV report, Basappa, a displaced farmer, had arrived at the authority office demanding compensation regarding displacement from his land. He claimed that authorities had continuously made delays in his case while showing partiality to others.

The bystanders mentioned that the heated argument had taken place between Basappa and a first division assistant, Ankad, after which both started to physically assault each other and grabbed each other's shirts.
While the physical assault was taking place, it is believed that the displaced farmer hit the employee using the slipper, leading to mayhem within the authority office. The officials of the authority rushed towards the scuffle and separated them.
A brief disruption occurred at the authority office, after which things were put back in place by the officials. Further investigation into the case is underway.
