A 34-year-old man hanged himself from a tree in the Hanuru area of Karnataka on Thursday, killing himself, according to police. He was allegedly irritated by his wife's obsession with creating Instagram reels.
According to them, Kumar, a coolie, did not enjoy that his wife was glued to social media sites all the time, where she frequently created and posted reels.
Police said a preliminary investigation indicates that Kumar voiced his disapproval of his wife's obsession, but she disregarded him.
This frequently resulted in arguments between the couple, and according to a senior police officer, when things got out of hand, Kumar hanged himself from a tree.
Police stated that no suicide note was found at the scene and that the body has been sent for a post-mortem investigation.

Last month, a man named Maheshwar Kumar Rai was killed by his in-laws for refusing to tolerate his wife's obsession with creating Instagram reels based on popular songs. The victim had a five-year-old son and married Rani Kumari six years ago.
The incident occurred on the night of January 7 in Fafaut village, Begusarai, Bihar. The 25-year-old labourer from Kolkata recently returned home. According to the police, he and his wife had an argument after he objected to her obsession with creating reels. The lady has over 9,500 Instagram followers and has uploaded over 500 videos.
The victim was reportedly killed in their home by his in-laws. The accused killed the victim by tying a rope around his neck. According to the victim's father, who also verified the incident, the victim never approved of his wife creating Instagram reels.
