A ticket clerk at a railway station in Karnataka was caught on video neglecting a long line of passengers while taking a phone call. Despite growing impatience from commuters, the clerk repeatedly told them "one minute" as they waited for assistance. The incident continued for about 15 minutes, according to witnesses.
The video quickly went viral, drawing the attention of railway officials, who later suspended the clerk, according to media reports. In the footage, the clerk is seen sitting at the ticket counter, engrossed in his phone call, while passengers stood in line. Even when people politely asked for help, he kept talking without responding to them.

One frustrated passenger pointed out that the clerk kept saying "just one minute," but continued his conversation on the phone. After seeing the rising frustration among passengers, he finally ended the call and began issuing tickets.
The video is going viral on social media, sparking public outrage. A social media user on X, formerly Twitter, said, "A railway ticket clerk at Yadgir, busy on his personal call, ignoring desperate passengers shouting for help. No apology, no basic courtesy. This isn’t just negligence, it’s arrogance rooted in impunity. Cattle class treatment for tax-paying citizens?"

In response to the public outcry, RailSeva confirmed that the staff member involved, identified as C Mahesh, had been suspended. The swift action followed after a vigilant commuter sent the video of the incident to the station master, according to an India Today report.

The suspension was later confirmed by Station Manager Bhagirath Meena, who explained that Mahesh had been removed from his duties due to negligence in handling his responsibilities.
