In a separate incident in Punjab's Muktsar, five migrant labourers died while 27 others were injured in an explosion at a firecracker manufacturing unit on the Singhawali-Kotli road in Singhewala village on Thursday night.
The blast was so intense that the entire construction was razed to the ground. The injured were rushed to the hospital.
Lambi DSP Jaspal Singh said, "Late last night, a blast occurred at a firecracker factory. Almost 50 labourers work in the factory. Four bodies have been recovered, and 27 injured have been admitted to the hospital."
Although the exact cause of the explosion was under investigation, initial findings suggest that it may have been triggered by potash, which is a key component used in the firecracker production process.
