Karnataka Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday stated that several districts of Karnataka are likely to witness light to moderate rainfall for the next few days. The weather department stated that apart from rainfall, the coastal districts are also set to receive thunderstorms and gusty winds. It also asserted that the temperature in most of the districts is likely to significantly drop in the upcoming days. The continuous rainfall is likely to lead to issues like waterlogging in multiple cities, leading to inconveniences for the daily commuters. The weather department has advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences.
While providing details, the weather department stated that several districts, including Tumkur, Ramanagara, Mysore, Mandya, Chamarajanagara, Bangalore Rural, Bangalore City, Kolar, Kodagu, Chikkaballapur, Haveri, Gadag, and Dharwad, are likely to witness moderate rainfall for the next two to three days.
However, the other districts, such as Uttara Kannada, Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Belgaum, Bidar, Kalaburagi, Koppal, Raichur, Vijayapura, Yadgir, Chikkamagaluru, Chitradurga, Davangere, Hassan, Shimoga, and Vijayanagar, are set to witness dry weather conditions.
The IMD stated that the temperature is likely to drop in several cities, adding that the residents of Bengaluru are also set to witness cloudy skies with gentle breezes. The weather department has advised the fishermen of the coastal districts to follow the guidelines and maintain a distance from the water bodies to ensure safety and avoid inconveniences.
Apart from this, the IMD also stated that several southern districts of Tamil Nadu, including Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, Tenkasi, and Thoothukudi, are likely to witness moderate to heavy rainfall for the next few days. The IMD stated that a low-level atmospheric circulation prevailing over South India will lead to heavy rainfall in multiple southern and western states.
