Karnataka weather update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Saturday stated that several regions of Karnataka are likely to witness light to heavy rain for the next few days. While providing details, the weather department stated that the coastal areas are set to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall till September 5. Apart from heavy rainfall, these regions are also expected to witness thunderstorms and gusty winds. It further stated that the other regions are set to receive light to moderate rain for the next few days. The weather department advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences.
Karnataka: Coastal districts to witness rain
- While providing details, the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC) stated that the coastal districts are set to witness heavy rainfall till September 5.
- The residents of coastal districts are also set to witness strong surface winds on August 31 and September 2, the weather department informed.

- The continuous rain is expected to provide relief from the heat by reducing the temperature by two to four degrees Celsius.
- The weather department stated that the rainfall is also likely to lead to issues like waterlogging and power outages in several regions, leading to inconveniences for the residents.
Bengaluru Weather: Residents to witness light rain
- The IMD stated that the capital city of Karnataka will receive light rain for the next few days.
- The residents of the Silicon City are set to witness cloudy skies and gentle breezes for most parts of the day.

- While the maximum temperature is likely to be calculated at 29 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature is expected to remain around 21 degrees Celsius.
The weather advised the fishermen to limit their financial activities and maintain distance from the water bodies to avoid any inconveniences.
