Karnataka Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday stated that several districts of Karnataka are likely to witness light to heavy rainfall for the next few days. The weather department stated that the coastal regions are expected to witness thunderstorms and gusty winds along with the heavy rainfall. The continuous rainfall is likely to reduce the temperature by two to three degrees Celsius and is also expected to lead to issues like waterlogging in multiple key cities. The weather department has advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences.
While providing details, the weather department stated that several districts, including Kalaburagi, Bidar, Vijayapura, Raichur, Koppal, Gadag, Haveri, and Yadgir, are expected to witness moderate to heavy rainfall. The rainfall is also likely to occur in other districts, including Bellary, Bengaluru, Chamarajanagar, Chikkaballapur, Chikkamagaluru, Chitradurga, Davangere, Hassan, Kodagu, Kolar, Mandya, Mysore, Ramanagara, Shivamogga, Vijayanagar, and Tumkur.
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC) stated that several districts are set to witness heavy rainfall till October 10. "Scattered light to moderate rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms is likely across the state, with isolated heavy rains from October 8 to 10," KSNDMC stated. The weather department also stated that the capital city, Bengaluru, is expected to witness light to moderate rainfall for the next two to three days.
The IMD stated that the residents of Bengaluru are set to witness gentle breezes and cloudy skies. It further stated that while the maximum temperature is likely to be calculated at 29 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature is expected to remain around 21 degrees Celsius.

The weather department has also advised the fishermen to follow the guidelines and reduce their financial activities for the next few days to avoid any inconveniences.
