Karnataka Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday stated that several districts of Karnataka, including capital city Bengaluru, are likely to witness light to heavy rainfall for the next few days. The weather department stated that while the coastal regions are likely to receive heavy rainfall along with thunderstorms, the other regions are expected to experience light to moderate rainfall. The rainfall is likely to provide relief from the scorching heat by reducing the temperature by two to four degrees Celsius. The IMD has advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences.

While providing details, the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC) stated that several regions of the state will receive rainfall till August 7. "Moderate to heavy rains are likely to occur at isolated places in coastal and Malnad districts along with strong winds across the state, with the heaviest rains expected from August 5 to 7. Light to moderate rains are likely to occur at isolated places in interior districts," KSNDMC stated in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
