Karnataka Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that the coastal districts of Karnataka are likely to witness light to moderate rainfall in the upcoming days. Along with the rain, these regions are also expected to experience strong surface winds and thunderstorms. The continuous rainfall is likely to lead to a significant drop in temperature and waterlogging in some regions. The IMD stated that the capital city Bengaluru is also expected to witness light rain for the next few days. The weather department has advised the residents to follow the guidelines and limit their outings to avoid inconveniences.
While providing details, the IMD stated that several districts, including Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Kasaragod, Uttara Kannada, Kodagu, Chikkamagaluru, Hassan, and Shivamogga, are likely to witness rainfall for the next three to four days. The continuous rainfall is likely to lead to waterlogging in the lower regions, leading to inconveniences for the commuters. Apart from this, the other districts such as Belgaum, Bidar, Vijayapura, Bagalkot, Haveri, Dharwad, Bellary, Raichur, and Yadgir are set to witness a significant drop in the temperature.

The IMD stated that these regions are also expected to witness mist and cold waves, especially in the early hours of the day. The weather department also stated that the capital city, Bengaluru, is likely to witness light rain at least till December 13. While the maximum temperature is likely to be calculated at 27 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature is expected to remain around 16 degrees Celsius.

Apart from Karnataka, several other southern states, including Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Andhra Pradesh, are expected to witness light to moderate rainfall for the next few days. The IMD stated that along with the rainfall, these regions are also likely to experience thunderstorms and lightning. It further advised the fishermen to maintain a distance from the water bodies to avoid inconveniences.
