Karnataka Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that several regions of Karnataka are likely to witness light rainfall in the upcoming days. The weather department stated that most of the regions are set to witness a significant drop in temperature. The residents are likely to witness cold waves and dense fog, especially in the early hours, leading to inconveniences for the commuters. However, it clarified that the temperature across the state is likely to increase after January 15. The weather department has advised the residents to follow the guidelines and take precautionary measures during the morning and evening hours.

While providing details, the weather department stated that several parts of the Malnad region are set to witness light to moderate rain on January 9 and 10. It stated that the continuous rainfall is likely to lead to waterlogging in the lower regions. Apart from this, these regions are also likely to witness a drop in temperature and a cold wave in the upcoming days.

However, the IMD clarified that the capital city Bengaluru is not likely to receive rainfall in the next few days. While the maximum temperature is likely to be calculated at 22 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature is expected to remain around 13 degrees Celsius. The tech city has witnessed a drop in temperature in the last 48 hours, leading to inconveniences.

Apart from this, the presence of fog in the morning hours is likely to affect the visibility, leading to inconveniences for the daily commuters. The weather department stated that while the mornings will remain cold, daytime temperatures may rise slightly, offering some relief to the residents. The IMD has advised the fishermen of the coastal regions to maintain a distance from the water bodies for the next few days.

Along with Karnataka, several other states, including Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana, are also likely to witness a cold wave in the upcoming days.
