Kashmir Weather: Following the recent snowfall, the cold wave has intensified in the Kashmir valley. Although the weather remains dry, the drop in temperatures is making the cold feel more intense.
Temperatures in Pahalgam and Gulmarg have dropped below freezing. Srinagar residents experienced the season's coldest night with a minimum temperature of 0.2 degrees Celsius. Pahalgam remained the coldest region in the valley with a minimum temperature of -3.0 degrees Celsius.
According to the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature in Qazigund was -0.3, in Kupwara -0.7, in Kokernag -1.6, and in Gulmarg -2.6 degrees Celsius.
The Meteorological Department has forecast that the weather in the valley will remain generally dry until November 17, but the cold is expected to intensify further in the meantime.
Dr Mukhtar Ahmed, Director of the department, said, "There is no significant change in the weather expected until November 17." He added that during this period the weather will remain dry, however, due to drop in temperature, there is a possibility of increase in cold.
Meanwhile, Gulmarg in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district turned into a winter wonderland with pearly white snow covering the resort town. The snowfall has attracted tourists who are enjoying the meadows and scenic views.
