K Kavitha Suspended: K Chandrasekhar Rao, also known as KCR removed his daughter and MLC, K Kavitha from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi on Tuesday. The party leadership is taking the matter seriously as the recent behaviour and ongoing anti-party activities of party MLC K Kavitha are damaging the party, the BRS said in an X post.
Party President K Chandrasekhar Rao has taken a decision to suspend K Kavitha from the party with immediate effect, it added.
Kavitha Alleges Cousins' Role In Tarnishing Father KCR's Image
On Monday, Kavitha accused her cousins and BRS leaders -- T Harish Rao and J Santosh Kumar -- of "amassing assets and having a tacit understanding" with Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to tarnish the image of her father K Chandrasekhar Rao.

The entire row stemmed from the Kaleshwaram project, which caused an infighting within the party. Kavitha intensified the row after attacking her cousins, Harish and Santosh. Soon after the Congress government decided to order a CBI probe into the alleged irregularities in the Kaleshwaram project, which was built during the BRS regime, Kavitha opened a front against the duo, escalating the dispute in the party.
Row Erupts After Kavitha's Letter Leaked
Earlier, the internal differences within the party came to the fore in May this year, with Kavitha taking exception to the letter she wrote to KCR, which was leaked. She had then said some conspiracies were taking place in the party.
The BRS MLC, while speaking to reporters, said, "We (BRS cadre) have to think why the taint of corruption came to KCR. Some who are close to KCR have benefited in many ways by making use of his name. KCR's name is getting defamed today because of their misdeeds. How can the party move ahead if the same persons are encouraged."
"Did Harish Rao, who was irrigation minister for five years, not have a major role in this? That's why KCR sidelined him (Harish Rao) in the second term (in power). Two, three persons are responsible for the taint on KCR in the whole episode of Kaleshwaram, While Harish Rao is one, former Rajya Sabha member (Santosh Kumar) is another," she claimed, also naming an industrialist.
While KCR focused on helping people, these people sought to increase their wealth through clandestine dealings with contractors, she alleged.
The MLC claimed that she had tolerated the conspiracies orchestrated by Harish Rao and Santosh against her. "Definitely, I am saying today. Revanth Reddy is behind Harish Rao and Santosh Rao. He (Revanth Reddy) will protect them but target KCR," Kavitha said. She expressed confidence that KCR would emerge unscathed if the CBI inquiry is conducted.
Kavitha said the BRS should have called for a Telangana bandh when the Congress government announced the CBI probe against KCR, claiming that the inquiry is a "pre-plannned, premeditated attack to defame KCR".
Kavitha has been making critical remarks against some party leaders for several months now without naming and organising political activities under the banner of 'Telangana Jagruti'. Kavitha's brother and BRS Working president KT Rama Rao praised Harish Rao for defending the BRS government during the assembly debate on the judicial commission's report on the Kaleshwaram project.
