In a disturbing incident in Kasaragod, Kerala, 14 men, including two government employees, were arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a 16-year-old boy. According to police, the men connected with the minor through a mobile app for the LGBTQ community.

A senior police official, cited by News18, stated that the boy was sexually assaulted over two years at his home and other locations, including in Kannur and Kozhikode districts, by these 14 individuals.

The case came to light when the boy’s mother noticed a man at their home who fled upon seeing her. When she questioned her son, he disclosed the ongoing assaults, prompting her to inform the police and Childline.

Case Filed Under POCSO

Based on the boy’s statement, the police registered 14 separate cases under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012. The accused, aged between 25 and 51, include a Railways employee.

A Special Investigation Team (SIT), comprising a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) and four Inspectors, has been formed to investigate the eight cases related to incidents in Kasaragod. The remaining six cases have been transferred to authorities in Kozhikode and Kannur, where the alleged assaults also occurred.
