A commotion erupted in the coastal district of Alappuzha, Kerala, on Christmas Eve when a dispute between two separate carol singing groups escalated into a physical altercation. Several people were injured in the incident, which occurred in the Nooranad area. According to the police, the clash took place around 11:30 pm.
The two groups confronted each other while making their carol rounds. What started as a minor disagreement quickly spiraled into tension, leading members of both sides to attack one another.
When And Where Did The Incident Occur?
The clash occurred in the Nooranad region of the Alappuzha district. Police reported that the dispute began when both carol groups arrived in the same locality. The late-night disturbance left residents shocked. While both sides are trading accusations, police maintain that a trivial matter escalated into a significant conflict.
Some media reports suggest that women and children are among the injured. A police official confirmed that the injured individuals were sent to the hospital and are undergoing treatment. However, the exact number of injured persons or their identities has not yet been fully released.

'Injuries Are Not Life-Threatening'
Officials stated that none of the injuries appear to be life-threatening. The injured have either been discharged after treatment or are currently under medical observation. The police have launched an investigation and are questioning members of both groups to determine the exact cause of the dispute.
The incident has dampened the festive spirit of the locals, as it occurred while people were joyfully celebrating Christmas. The police have deployed additional measures to maintain peace in the area and stated that further action will be taken once the investigation is complete.
