A video showing a popsicle maker tasting each stick before packaging has gone viral, sparking public outrage over the unhygienic practice. The incident reportedly took place at an establishment named ‘Ice Me’, operating in Kerala’s Kozhikode.
The man was captured on video tasting an ice-stick before it was packaged. After the video went viral, locals intervened and handed Rasheed over to the Koduvally police. In response, the food safety division of the Koduvally circle suspended the shop's registration and forwarded a report to the Assistant Food Safety Commissioner in Kozhikode for further investigation and action.

The footage was recorded by a customer who visited the establishment to purchase ice. Following complaints from locals, the police intervened and sealed the unit. Additionally, the unit's food safety registration was suspended, and a report was submitted to the Food Safety Assistant Commissioner for further investigation.
Following the incident, officials gathered samples from the manufacturing unit and sent them to the Malappuram Regional Analytical Lab for testing. In response to the spread of diseases, such as yellow fever, the health department has intensified inspections of street food vendors.
In another incident that took place in September, a 20-year-old fruit seller was arrested after a video of him urinating into a plastic bag and continuing to sell fruits without cleaning up in Thane's Nilje area went viral, triggering outrage among netizens.
The accused, identified as Ali Khan, was taken into custody by the Manpada police station in Dombivali, Thane, after the video went viral.
