Kerala Weather: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast widespread rain across Kerala over the next five days and issued yellow alerts for several districts. Residents have been advised to remain cautious, as isolated heavy showers are likely during this period.

According to the IMD, the alerts have been issued for different districts on specific days. On Sunday (November 16), Kottayam and Idukki were placed under alert. On Monday (November 17), Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam and Idukki are expected to receive heavy rainfall.

The alert will continue on Tuesday (November 18) for Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Idukki and Malappuram, while Kottayam and Idukki will again be under yellow alert on Wednesday (November 19). On Thursday (November 20), the alert will cover Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Kannur and Kasaragod.
The IMD said that the alerts indicate the possibility of isolated heavy rainfall in these areas. Heavy rainfall, as defined by the department, refers to 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm of rain within 24 hours.
