Kerala Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday stated that several regions of Kerala will receive heavy rainfall in the upcoming few days. The weather department stated that these areas are likely to receive rainfall, along with gusty winds and thunderstorms, from April 26 to April 29. It stated that the residents of these districts will get relief from the scorching heat, as the temperature has been increasing for the past few days.

The weather department stated that several districts, including Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, and Kottayam, will receive heavy rainfall in the upcoming few days. While providing details, the IMD stated that Wayanad and Kannur districts will receive heavy rainfall on April 28 and Malappuram and Wayanad districts on April 29.

It stated that these districts will get relief from the scorching heat, adding that the temperature will continue to rise from the first week of May. It further advised the residents of these districts to stay updated and limit their outings to avoid any inconveniences.

However, several districts of the state will witness a rise in temperature of two to three degrees in the upcoming few days. The weather department has issued a yellow alert in seven districts, adding that the temperature will continue to rise in these districts. While providing details, the IMD stated that multiple districts, including Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur, and Kasaragod, will continue to witness a surge in temperature.

While the maximum temperature is likely to be recorded at 37 degrees Celsius in Palakkad and Kozhikode districts on Saturday and Sunday, the maximum temperature in Ernakulam, Thrissur, Malappuram, Kannur, and Kasaragod districts is likely to be recorded at 36 degrees Celsius. Apart from this, the weather department stated that several districts of Tamil Nadu are also likely to receive rainfall in the upcoming few days.
