Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, a Khalistani terrorist, on Monday warned the flight passengers not to fly on Air India flights from November 1 to 19. He claimed that an attack could take place among these dates as it coincides with the anniversary of the anti-Sikh riots of 1984.
Noteworthy, this is not the first time the founder of Sikhs for Justice (SFJ) has issued such warnings. He also issued a similar threat last year during the same time. Gurpatwant Singh Pannun holds dual citizenship in Canada and the US. Pannun has threatened India amid several bomb threats to Indian aircraft in the recent past. The relation between India and Canada has worsened as the Trudeau government accused the Indian government of being involved in the killings of Khalistani elements on its soil. Canada has also accused Indian officials of playing a role in killing of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, another Khalistani separatist leader.
The National Investigation Agency charged him with several charges such as criminal conspiracy, promoting enmity between different groups on the grounds of religion, and various offences under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) last year following his similar threat to avoid Air India flight on November 19.

In a video, he claimed that the name of Delhi's Indira Gandhi International airport would be changed and the airport would remain closed on November 19. Pannun, in December last year, threatened to attack the Parliament on or before December 13. There were reports of an alleged foiled plot to kill him. Earlier, on Republic day, he threatened to kill Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann along with Director General of State Police Gaurav Yadav.
