Who Was Sukhdool Singh Aka Sukha Duneke
Duneke was part of the Davinder Bambiha gang from Moga district. In 2017, he fled Punjab with the help of local policemen. Despite his name being registered in seven criminal cases, he managed to get a passport and police clearance with the help of local policemen.
In the year 2022, Duneke allegedly conspired to kill kabaddi player Sandeep Singh Nangal with the help of his associates during a kabaddi match at Mallian village in Jalandhar.
Meanwhile, the incident came amid the ongoing growing tensions between India and Canada over the death of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a Khalaistani separatist.
Both India and Canada have also expelled a senior diplomat each after Canadian PM Trudeau during an emergency session of the parliament on Monday claimed that his government had "credible allegations" linking Indian agents to the killing of the Khalistan Tiger Force chief and in retaliation dismissed New Delhi's intelligence chief in Ottawa.
