Jagran correspondent, Patna: Faisal Khan, alias 'Khan Sir', the Director of Khan Global Studies, will not surrender in court. This comes amid widespread speculation on Saturday that he had come to Patna Civil Court to surrender in connection with the Patna coaching centre firing case, days after he reportedly went missing following the incident.

Confirming the development, his lawyer, Arvind Kumar Mahuar, has stated that he will not surrender. Mahuar said that there is no chance of surrender. This is a complete conspiracy to frame him. An anticipatory bail petition will be filed in this case. He said that it could be filed on Monday.

Khan's lawyer, Arvind Kumar Mavvar, said, "The FIR lodged against him is in retaliation because his staff had lodged a case against the director on 2nd June. Guards had fired in the air for safety; no one was injured. But in the disclosure statement in the FIR, his name has been inserted. This is an attempt to frame him and defame him. We will file an anticipatory bail plea..."

Meanwhile, regular bail applications for Khan's security guards, Pradeep and Tarakeshwar, were filed in the court of First Class Judicial Magistrate Anurag Verma. The hearing will take place on Monday.

This development comes amid a looming arrest. After being named in the First Information Report (FIR), Khan arrived at the court around noon accompanied by his lawyers. The police booked him in connection with the June 2 firing incident, which stemmed from a dispute at a coaching centre located at Musallahpur Haat under the Kadamkuan police station's jurisdiction.

Authorities had been searching for him ever since a criminal case was registered, which includes charges of attempted murder and violations of the Arms Act. Consequently, security personnel were deployed outside his coaching centre on Thursday night.

According to our correspondents, police teams conducted multiple raids at the coaching centre on Friday night. However, due to the heavy presence of students at the scene, the police were unable to execute the arrest.

What Is the Khan Sir Controversy?

The controversy began after an incident of vandalism at Khan Global Studies (KGS) Institute in Patna. According to police, a group of 15 to 20 individuals allegedly entered the premises on Tuesday night, damaged property, and pelted stones at the institute.

Patna Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kartikeya Sharma said that Khan Sir has been named in the FIR and will be questioned as part of the ongoing investigation.

His name was added to the FIR after several new videos related to the case surfaced a day after the coaching centre was vandalised. A case has been registered at the Kadamkuan police station under provisions of the Arms Act and for allegedly providing false information.

"During investigations, police obtained a purported video showing two individuals carrying out aerial firing. Following verification of the video, two guards linked to KGS have been taken into custody for questioning," a statement issued by the City SP (Central) office said.

Earlier, on June 2, a major controversy erupted after Khan Sir's coaching institute was allegedly attacked by individuals associated with a rival coaching centre. In his complaint, Khan Sir alleged that multiple rounds were fired during the incident.

However, the rival coaching centre later released a video in which KGS security guards were allegedly seen firing shots. Police detained the guards for questioning. Khan Sir, however, told investigators that the shots were fired in self-defence.

Speaking to reporters, he claimed that rivals targeted his coaching institute because he was providing education at an affordable price.

Meanwhile, members of the rival coaching centre alleged that the entire incident was orchestrated by Khan Sir to maintain his dominance in the coaching market. Police have arrested three individuals in connection with the case and said a detailed investigation is underway.
