The medical test of Kolkata gang-rape victim revealed signs of 'forceful penetration, bite marks', proving that first year law student was gang raped. In the medical report, it was found that the victim’s body bore evidence of “forceful penetration, bite marks and nail scratches.”
According to the police complaint filed by the victim at the Kasba Police Station, she was gang raped by an alumnus and two senior students of the institution inside the campus on June 25.

All three accused, including key accused Monojit Mishra, were arrested on Thursday. Phones of the accused have been confiscated, and a further probe into the matter is underway.
As per an official, evidence from the medical examination of the law student proved her allegation of gang rape, news agency PTI reported. The 24-year-old victim underwent a medical test on Thursday. "There is evidence of forceful penetration, bite marks and nail scratches on her body," the officer added.
Monojit Mishra, a practising criminal lawyer raped the first year student while two other accused stand guard outside the room, as per the official.
According to a Supreme Court verdict, all person involved in a rape case must be held liable, regarless their involvment in the henious act of rape, Chief Police Prosecutor Sourin Ghosal cited SC’s judgement.
"In this case, two other persons helped in the rape. So this is a case of gangrape, and they are also accused in the case," Ghosal added.
Protests erupted across Kolkata on Friday following the incident. Opposition parties slammed the ruling TMC over deteriorating law and order. The incident has stirred the country, as a similar incident took place in August last year, when a 31-year-old trainee doctor was raped and murdered in RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, Kolkata.

Leader of Opposition Suvendu Adhikari has shared pictures of Mishra, the key accused, with Trinamool national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee, the second-in-command after Mamata Banerjee.
“This incident is not just a crime; it is glaring proof of the Trinamool’s student leaders tarnishing the sanctity of educational institutions,” Adhikari said in a social media post.
The Mamata Banerjee-led TMC has assured that "justice will be served" in the case. West Bengal minister Shashi Panja, addressing a press conference over the gang rape case on Friday, said that the police took immediate action, arresting the three accused within 12 hours of the complaint.
