The students of Kolkata's Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) have strongly protested after disturbing graffiti surfaced at the Kolkata-based Indian Statistical Institute. The derogatory remarks against the Muslim community were found written on the walls of the campus on November 11, 12 hours after the Delhi blast.

The walls of the campus boys' hostel are marked in chalk, "Dogs and Muslims are not allowed in." A dustbin read, "This is the only place suitable for Muslims." Furthermore, the door of CV Raman Hall reads, "Muslims are not allowed in."

Condemning the act, ISI Director Sanghamitra Bandyopadhyay said the institute had always stood for pluralistic traditions and promoted academic and research excellence against any gender-based, religious, and linguistic discrimination among its stakeholders.

The incident has sparked protests and resentment on the campus. In a protest against the incident, the student said, "Throw your religious hatred here!"

The students also put up Article 15 of the Constitution at the main entrance of the hostel. On November 13, the students also In addition to protesting, several students also complained to Dean Biswabrata Pradhan, who has signed on student's demands.

The Dean condemned the incident and said, "The institute strongly condemns this incident. The college administration will take strict action against the accused for hurting the sentiments of a particular community."
