Kolkata Metro Update: The Kolkata metro authority on Friday announced that 22 additional trains will operate on the Joka-Majerhat section of the Purple Line on a daily basis from Monday. It stated that the number of trains operating daily will be increased from 18 to 40 from May 5. The authority clarified that 20 trains will operate in each direction at an interval of 22 minutes from Monday, adding that the first train will leave from Majerhat at 8.27 am and from Joka at 8.30 am. It further informed that the last trains from Majerhat will depart at 3.28 pm and from Joka at 3.28 pm.
