Kolkata Metro Update: The Kolkata Metro Rail Corporation Limited (KMRCL) has announced new timings for Sunday, December 7, due to the West Bengal Judicial Service (WBJS) Preliminary Examination. Many candidates from urban and suburban areas will be leaving for the examination centre early in the morning. Keeping their convenience in mind, Kolkata Metro Rail has decided to make important changes to the regular timetable on Sunday.
According to KMRCL Officials, cited by Sangbad Pratidin, the Blue Line and Green Line will start operating one hour earlier than usual on this day. But, no changes will be there on the yellow line. The Purple and the Orange lines will remain closed on Sundays as usual.
Kolkata Metro Update: Revised Timings For Blue Line
- Normally, metro services on the blue line (running between Dakshineswar-Kavi Subhash) start on Sundays from 9 am.
- However, on the coming Sunday, December 7, the metro services will start from 8 am for the convenience of the WBJS candidates.
- The number of metro services will also be increased to 136 (68 up and 68 down) from the usual 130 (65 up and 65 down) on Sundays.
- The metro services will be available at an interval of 20 minutes between 8 am to 9 am, post that the metro services will run at an interval of 4 minutes.
Kolkata Metro Update: Revised Timings For Green Line
- On the Green Line from Howrah Maidan to Sector 5, a total of 110 metros will run from morning to night (55 up and 55 down).
- The service from Howrah Maidan to Salt Lake Sector 5 will start at 8 am, while the first metro from Salt Lake Sector 5 to Howrah Maidan will be available at 8:02 am.
- Usually, on Sundays, the metro service on both routes starts at 9 am.
- However, there is no change in the timing of the last metro. The last metro from Howrah Maidan to Salt Lake Sector 5 will leave at 9:45 pm.
- The last metro from Salt Lake Sector 5 to Howrah Maidan will be available at 9:47 pm.
