Kolkata's Metro Railway has announced a modification in its Blue Line services for Laxmi Puja, a significant festival in West Bengal. The decision reduces services from the typical 272 to 236 (118 trains up and down), according to officials, as quoted by PTI. The rule will be applicable only on the day of Laxmi Puja, which will be celebrated across the state between October 6 to 7.

Laxmi Puja (also called Kojagari Laxmi Puja in Bengal), celebrated on a full moon night, is the next major festival after Durga Puja. It is celebrated a week after Vijay Dashami.
