Kolkata Rape-Murder: The Central Bureau of Investigation, probing the Kolkata doctor rape and murder, is focussing on how the crime was carried out in the seminar hall of the emergency building without any hindrance, PTI quoted an officer as saying. CBI official further said that as a tower bolt of the seminar hall gate was broken, the teams are also trying to find whether someone was stationed outside the gate of the facility to guard it while the crime was being committed.
The sleuths of the central probe agency are analysing the CCTV footage of the building and other areas to investigate the angle. This came as the agency moved forward with the lie-detector test of the accused Kolkata Police civic volunteer Sanjoy Roy. It has also obtained permission to conduct the lie-detector test on the principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, along with the four doctors who had dinner with the victim on the night of the crime.
Door With Broken Bolt - A Key Lead?
According to the PTI, the officials probing the case are pondering over why nobody could hear any sound from inside the seminar hall when the crime was being committed. As various reports suggested brutal torture during the crime, the suspense over how voices went unheard remained a mystery.

"The tower bolt was broken, which caused the door to malfunction. We are probing whether anyone was stationed outside to act as a guard while the crime was committed," a CBI officer told PTI.
A preliminary probe has indicated that the tower bolt was broken for some time, due to which the gate was malfunctioning. The victim's entry to the hall was confirmed between 2 AM and 3 AM on August 9. A doctor on duty also reported seeing the victim sleeping inside the hall, the agency further said.
"Interviews with doctors, interns, and junior doctors revealed that the door's malfunction had been a known issue, which prevented the victim from locking the door that night," he added.
On Friday, the agency continued the interrogation of Sandip Ghosh, the former principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, as part of the ongoing investigation. Meanwhile, the CBI brought the accused, Sanjay Roy, before the court, which remanded him to 14 days of judicial custody.
