Kota Tragedy: A government employee's farewell celebration turned tragic when his sick wife, for whom he had decided to take voluntary retirement, died in front of him on the occasion. The troubling video of the incident in Kota, Rajasthan, has surfaced online.

Devendra Sandal, who worked as a manager at Central Warehousing Corporation, opted to retire three years early to care for his wife, Tina, who was a heart patient. She died during his farewell party.

The video showed smiles and joyful scenes around, with the table in front being decorated with rose petals and the husband and wife wearing garlands.

Little did anyone know that the happy times would become tragic with the demise of the wife.

"Mujhe chakkar aa rahe hain (I am feeling dizzy)," she says to her husband and eases back into her chair in the video. Her husband then massages her back.

"Paani la dena, paani (Get water, please, water)," says the husband and a few others.

She sways even when someone asks her to smile for the camera. A distressing video captured the event as she does so and then collapses face-forward onto the white table covered in rose petals.

Even though the husband got up to help her, she had already fallen.

She was immediately rushed to the hospital where the doctors pronounced her dead on arrival. She had been ailing for some time, causing her husband to make the decision to retire early.
